Self-denial, fears, anger, grief, loss and shame – feelings and wounds that men are generally unwilling to face. Where should they do so? – Marked Men for Christ offers a safe space in a so-called Phase 1 experience, where men embark on a 44-hour weekend journey from the head to the heart.
In a challenging group of men, they work on this and open themselves to the healing power of Jesus Christ. Encouraged and equipped with a personal mission for their respective living environment, the participants are freed from some of the baggage and can then take off with a new focus as stronger men for Jesus Christ.
The interdenominational initiative is based on two Bible verses: ‘But God, who strengthens us and you in our faithfulness to Christ and who has anointed us all, it is he who has set his seal on us and given the Spirit into our hearts as the first portion (of the promised salvation).’ (2 Cor 1:21-22) and: ‘As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another’ (Proverbs 27:17).
